Product Development Details:  Our team developing product for P&C Underwriting solution that replaces legacy policy administration systems aimed at automating the entire underwriting process from needs analysis, quote issuance to underwriting and policy issuance, Policy Servicing and endorsements

Technology: J2EE, Prima Platform, ILOG Rule Engine, DB 2

Business Functionalities:

• Quoting - New policy quotes - Modify quote - View quote
• Application entry - Create application - Modify application
• Underwriting - Policy creation - View policy
• Endorsements - Premium-Non premium changes - Cancellation - Reinstate
• Reinstatement, Cancellation and Renewal of policies

Role:   Insurance Domain Consultant / Product Manager

Responsibilites:
• Creating Business Process Model for existing business processes for which we are developing the P & C Underwriting Solution
• Discussing with our Solution Team at USA about the generic market requirements and building the product satisfying the needs of US Market for underwriting functionalities
• Preparing Functional Requirement Specification, Business Requirements Specification
• Preparation of Test Strategy and Test Plan Document for testing the product
• System Integration and Functional Test Case preparation for the product
• Writing Business Rules for various Line of Businesses
o Commercial Property
o Crime
o Commercial General Liability
o Business Auto
o Commercial Package Policy
o Business Owners Policy
o Personal Lines – Homeowners and Personal Auto

Apart from the above activity, I am involved in:

• R & D for generation of Insurance Product ideas to make end-to-end solution for various insurance software product components for Property and Casualty Insurance market across the world.
• Applying new technology areas such as – Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Web Services, Portal and Collaborative Technologies, EAI (Web Services & Methods)
